Parent Workshop: The Parent-Child Connection January 24, 2019

SLPS Council is hosting a workshop for parents:  The Parent-Child Connection

Parenting today can be a wonderful and exhausting journey. As parents, we often feel pressured to ensure that our children are prepared for whatever challenges come their way. Traditional approaches to parenting, however, can often leave us (and our children) feeling disconnected and discouraged. This presentation will look at how new approaches to parenting center on what we can do to build resilience and strength in or children by focusing on the one thing that matters the most, the parent-child connection.

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board social workers Emily Balla and Kim Kramer will be leading a workshop about building confidence and resilience in our kids. A similar workshop is being rolled out to OCDSB staff this year, so this is a great opportunity to consult board subject matter experts. This presentation was also one of the most well attended and well received workshops at this year’s OCDSB Parent Conference in November.

The presentation is free, but registration is required.  Please register School Cash Online so that we can prepare accordingly.

Child minding and pizza are available for a nominal fee through School Cash Online.

Where: SLPS Library

When: Thursday January 24th from 6:30 pm -7:45 pm (75 min)
