“Screenagers” Documentary – Screening hosted by Katimavik ES Council

Join the Katimavik School Council for a screening of “Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age” on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 7:00PM at Katimavik Elementary School, 64 Chimo Drive.

In the approximately 1 hour long documentary, physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and Internet addiction. Through poignant, and funny stories, along with insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance. The documentary will be followed by an optional group discussion.

Parents are encouraged to bring their pre-teens and teens. The cost is $5 per person or $10 per family. Grade 7 students will be selling healthy snacks with proceeds going towards their upcoming camping trip.
