In the Backpack

Welcome to the “In the Backpack” series.  In this space, we will be exploring the depths of the backpack to seek treasures (okay… that is a stretch… let’s just say forms) for you from the Stephen Leacock School Council.  Stay ahead of your young scholar by finding out prior to the deadline that a form has been sent home for your consideration!

This week’s find:

Stephen Leacock Public School Loblaws Gift Cards Fundraising 2013-2014

You can help support Stephen Leacock Public School when you buy groceries – without paying anything extra!  Once again, the School Council is selling Loblaws gift cards.  The cards are sold at their face value, in amounts of $50, $100 and $250.  The cards can be used multiple times until the total dollar amount has been purchased.  As a service to the community, Loblaws offers a rebate of 2% to 5% on the sale of these gift cards, depending upon the quantity sold.  For grade 8 parents, the money raised through this fundraiser will go directly towards reducing the cost of your child’s Band trip.  The remainder will go to School Council for school improvements.

If you are interested in supporting this fundraiser, please fill out the form in the link above.  Return the form and your postdated cheques to your child’s homeroom teacher by Monday, October 21st (okay… even I don’t get to the bottom of the backpack before the deadline; please submit your form as soon as possible).  Make the cheques payable to “Stephen Leacock School Council” and postdate them for November 1st, December 1st, January 1st, February 1st, March 1st. April 1st, May 1st and June 1st.  Please do NOT staple the cheques together, use paper clips if needed.  The cards will be issued monthly.

See form for more details.

You will also find a copy of the form in the “Forms” tab on the Stephen Leacock School Council website.
