First School Council Meeting of the Year

Please consider joining our School Council
– Be involved with your child’s education
– Help create an inviting school environment
– Have input on school decisions and support education system accountability
– Be informed of current school activities
– Be familiar with school board policies
– Consult with and understand teacher concerns
– Help raise and allocate fundraising proceeds (library books, physical education and music supplies and equipment, teaching aids)

School Council meets monthly for about 2 hours. The first meeting is September 18 at 7 p.m. in the SLPS library. We will conduct our Annual General Election at this meeting, electing/appointing our officers and volunteer positions for the upcoming school year.

Please consider becoming involved with our School Council. It is a great opportunity to come together and discuss current and future issues which will impact our school community. We also have a lot of fun! Please submit the membership form to the school office if you would like to become a voting member of the School Council. Please know all parents are always welcome to attend any of our meetings throughout the school year. See you on September 18th!
